It’s easy to think of the fruit of the Spirit as aspects of individual spiritual growth, but the context has everything to do with our communal life and how we treat one another. In a world full of self-interest and rapidly vanishing empathy, the Church can bear witness to another way. When we live by the Spirit, the love of Jesus can bee seen among his family as it overflows out into the world.
